Game Play Highlights

Thirteen Cards is a Rummy style card game consisting of 13 Rounds. Players receive seven cards in each Round.  The Round you are playing corresponds to thecard(s) that are wild.  Round 1 = Ace, Round 2 = two and so on.

In Thirteen, players draw and discard to form 3+ card combinations in their hand. A combination consists of a Set of 3 or more cards of the same number, or a Run in numerical sequence of 3 or more cards in the same suit.

Players: You play against a computerized “AI” opponent.

Card Deck: Thirteen uses one deck of standard playing cards, a total of 52 cards, in settings, pick the Speed Play option which will enhancethe speed of the computerized hand.

Playing the Game:

1     Round 1 begins by dealing seven cards facedown to each player. The next card in the deck is then placed face-up on a stack on the table, starting a discard stack. Remaining cards in the deck are stacked face-down, next to the discard stack.

2     Before you start, both you and the computer pick a random card. The player with the lowest card goes first.

3     Wildcards - in each Round, the card number equal to the round you’re playing is "wild" (for example, Threes are"wild" in Round 3). In Rounds 11-13 Jacks, Queens, and Kings, respectively, are "wild". A wildcard can be used to represent any card in the deck. Thus they are very powerful cards for completing hands.Multiple wildcards can be used in one hand, and a hand of wildcards only is NOTallowed.

4     Players, when it’s their turn, must take one card either from the deck or from the discard stack. Players determine if they have any “plays” as described above and if so they drag the cards for the combination to the “combination” area on the screen. When they are done, you must discard one card by double clicking or dragging to the discard stack.  You can then click “Turn Done”.

5     A Round ends when a player, after discarding ,has every card in their hand is in a combination of three or more cards. NOTE:The player to exit the round, must have one card left to discard to the stack of discarded cards. Remaining players cards will be totaled and that total –and NOTE wildcards are worth 25 points – will be added to their game total.

6     The deal passes to the player to left, and play continues to the next Round. The new Round, and each successive Round, is played according to steps 2-5 above. Winning the Game: Upon completion of Round13 the player with the lowest number of points wins the game. If two or more players are tied for the lowest point total, the rule of two-tied, all-tied is followed, and no player is awarded a win for the game.
